Dewey Dunnington (Ph.D., P.Geo.) is an environmental researcher, programmer, and educator based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Dewey’s environmental research investigates the mechanisms that control toxic metals in lakes, whereas his programming has led him to develop mobile applications, web apps, and R packages, including a summer internship with RStudio working on the popular R package ggplot2. He has developed and taught many courses on R programming, Python programming, and GIS, and is a RStudio-certified tidyverse instructor. He recently completed his Ph.D. in the Centre for Water Resources Studies at Dalhousie University and is currently a Senior R Developer at Voltron Data working on all things Apache Arrow + R.
